I’m on my second bike phone holder. I decided to try the ESR even though it has the same concept as my first one (Roam). Both use a clamp to hold the phone in place and an ‘X’ type rubber band as a secondary protection. With the previous brand, rough roads would cause the phone to shake loose from the clamp leaving only the rubber band to hold it in place. I’d nervously find a spot to pull over to re-secure the phone to the clamp. Also, the road vibration would cause the previous brand’s mounting bracket to slip down making the phone point at the ground. No amount of tightening would fix this. I figured that’s the way it goes with these types of mounts. The spring broke in the previous brand causing me to look for a new one.I’m happy to say NONE of these issues happen with the ESR bike holder! Same roads/terrain and it holds the phone securely! I was hopeful while I was installing the ESR that it was better than the ROAM because it seemed so much sturdier.I use a Galaxy S10e in an Otterbox.Highly recommend!!!

It is so much better than nothing at all, but not as good as I had hoped. I would like to offer 3.5 stars. Here are my complaints -1st photo – You can see that when the bottom strap is hooked on, that it blocks the tab or button on the right side. This button releases the grips on each side of the phone. Since it is blocked by the rubber strap, I am prevented from applying the pressure needed to t release the phone from its grip.2nd photo – The phone sits in a cock-eyed place on my handlebars. My handlebars are quite full and I need to move my light to a different spot to be able to get a level grip on the phone holder. Of course, my light would need to be moved and then would not point straight because it would be where the phone is now. Its sitting cock-eyed is an annoyance for two reasons – When I use my phone, I am forced to twist my wrist oddly, which is difficult while riding. Also, if I want to use the video to film my trip, it is oddly angled.3rd photo – shows the stretch needed on the straps to hold the phone in place. It is fully stretched on this iPhone 11 and my iPhone 7. I am afraid it will quickly break. There were two straps included.4th photo – My iPhone in its thin case is too thick to fit properly in holder. I would not want to travel without my case because it protects it when it falls. You can see that this is one of the thinnest iPhone cases I can buy. Still, the grips barely grip the phone. The rubber straps hold it in but the grippers do not adequately secure it. I have a similar phone holder in my car, but it has a bottom shelf, so to speak. This one does not. If a strap breaks, my phone would quickly slide out the bottom.5th photo – shows that the holder blocks my access to the volume buttons.6th photo is a fuller view to see all of the problems I have discussed. That being said, I could return it for another style, with ESR’s great program, but like it said, it is better than nothing and I am still able to use it, despite my concerns and complaints.
Terry Havens –
Easy to read , holds tight on my mountain bike regardless of terrain. Easy to mount and take off.
Rebecca Brown –
My husband bought this for our gazelle and it works like a charm!

Holds phone securely and conveniently placed.

I like the extra elastic support. It held my phone on bumpy road.I have a case on the phone, it barely fit the opening/clamps. It would be better if the opening is deeper.
